After more than 8 days at sea, we arrived in Cascais, Portugal. A small town near Lisbon on an Atlantic coast. As we are arriving in Cascais from the north we can clearly see a red bridge of Lisbon and a great statue of Jesus on the other side of a Tejo river.

The reason why we are going to Cascais is to make the first service on our engines after first 50 hours and also to make a re-supply the ship. We need fresh fruits, water and some ropes and other staff for the boat.

Marina is very well equipped with a few staff that will help you when you are entering the marine and for the docking. While we are entering marina there was the wind around 15 knots coming on the 150-degree angle based on our direction that can make a huge problem during the docking you are not so good in docking.

The town is small and nice with interesting architecture very similar to Lisbon. If you are Lighthouse fan there is a small lighthouse museum near the marina. In the small but very nice city center, you can find a lot of interesting restaurant from international, Mediteran and classic Portuguese cuisine. Also, there are few classic fast food restaurants like Burger King, Mc Donalds, and Pizza Hat.

Near the city, there is a hill and small village Sintra with a few castles. Also close to Cascais is Cabo Da Roca, the most west point on Europe continent closest to America. This is a most western point of Europe. All these places you can reach by bus from Cascais. From Cascais to Lisbon you can go by train. Ticket if a few euros and you will need around 40 minutes. The train station is close to the city center.
